The Devils would defeat the Mighty Ducks 3-0 in Game 7 with a goal from Mike Rupp and a pair from Jeff Friesen. The latest championship for the Devils marked their third Cup in less than a decade after winning their first NHL championship in 1995 and another in 2000. The series marked the first time since 1965 that the home team won every game in the final.
